It's gorgeous and relaxing indoors, but don't miss your chance to experience the unspoiled beauty of the outdoors. More than 1,000 acres of pristine woodlands surround the House Mountain Inn. You'll find two stocked ponds for fishing and over fifteen miles of meandering trails that are perfect for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. You'll be amazed by the views from the observation tower… utter peace and tranquility.

Hiking
Who knew a setting this rich could be found so close to civilization! The trails are well-marked, and the innkeepers are happy to provide trail maps for your adventure. If you prefer to ride, the innkeepers offer guided four-wheel tours of the property.

Horses are welcome, too. The House Mountain Inn's horseback riding facilities include a stable with seven stalls and three turnouts. It's a perfect location for the equestrian enthusiast.

Pack Lunch For Two
Have lunch in some of the most spectacular places! Whether you're taking in views from a mountain top, or relaxing in a rocking chair, or canoeing down the river. Eat lunch when and where you want, your options are endless! Lunch includes: deli sandwich, fresh fruit, chips, homemade cookies, and a bottle of water. $7 per person plus tax.
Utility Vehicle Tour
Take a guided tour through the mountains on a three-passenger off-road vehicle. Hold on tight because this tour will have you exploring the mountainside and our newly built observation tower. “Breathtaking mountain scenery” best describes the view from the tower which is located approximately 3,000 feet above sea level. $25 per passenger, add a packed lunch for $7.00 each.

Horseback Riding
Explore Lexington's natural beauty by horseback. What better way to spend the afternoon! Enjoy a guided trail ride for one-hour ($30 pp), two-hour ($60 pp), or three-hour eco ride with a light lunch ($85 pp). These trips are booked with Virginia Mountain Outfitters. Fly Fishing:
Receive expert fly fishing instruction from our guide, Bradley Barber. With over 30 years of experience, all levels of fisherman will thrill in the sport and learn new tricks of the trade from these fishing specialists. Learn to fish in our stocked ponds or take a stream or river trip. Available seven-days-a-week in good weather. $75 half day $125 full day. Pack lunch $7.00 each. (540-784-8335).
